I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and growing up, I was taught to never wear white after Labor day! People were serious about this southern-style rule and you would actually get picked on or kicked out of a clique if you were to wear white. Those days are over now and you find that more people in the south are following their own style rules. Of course, my mother and aunts, still to this day, will never wear white after Labor Day but I dare to be different! Photos by @p_s_pics Website: PeterSylvester.myportfolio.com
I mean it’s such a ridiculous rule! I feel that you should wear whatever color you like, no matter the season. Now, walking around in a white sundress and sandals won’t work in Atlanta during the fall and winter seasons, but a pair of white jeans with a gray sweater would be super chic! And of course you could wear your winter whites which goes well with black, leopard print or a vibrant red hue.
Well, some say it’s good bye to white after Labor Day, but to those of us who don’t follow style rules, bring on the white! Below, I am wearing a pair of white frayed denim jeans from Jessica Simpson. I love the fit because of the stretch and the quality is good. Happy Labor Day to all of you hard working people in the U.S. and of course Canada too! Have a blessed day and enjoy the rest of your week!
