I’m just going to jump right into it! I had a wonderfully busy and beautiful weekend (yes, I said, “wonderfully busy”?). Yesterday, I attended the Lipstick & Mingle: The Pink Brunch Addition, hosted by blogger, Terrace Sherman. The brunch focused on self-care, which is one of the biggest things we, as women, never get enough of. We put so much into caring for others that we neglect our own needs, health and desires.
I woke up Sunday extremely tired and trying to talk myself out of attending the brunch. But after putting some serious thought into it, I knew I would enjoy meeting new people and Terrace has been a great friend to me and I feel blessed to have her in my life. Once I got there, I was happy that I attended. You know, people love to throw around the words empowerment, boss, and good vibes, but their actions speak otherwise.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet women who were leaders in action! They didn’t talk about what they would like to do but spoke of what they were doing. These ladies are active in their communities-not just in business, but in service as well. I left this event elevated and motivated in my journey to be the best me. I also realized that while I am working and living out my purpose, I must take a step back to focus on some self-care.
This week ladies, I want you to give yourself some care. Take a moment to read a book, take a walk or purchase something special for yourself. Just do it, because you deserve it!
