I am a big fan of vintage clothing and I shop thrift and consignment stores in search of pieces to add to my closet. There’s something special about the quality and the originality of the design of a vintage garment. The coat I am wearing was found at a consignment shop near my home. It was a long, floor-length coat with long sleeves. It’s so pretty and I didn’t want it to just sit in my closet, so I had some alterations done to make it wearable. I did a little research and discovered that it was from an Atlanta landmark Regenstein’s Department Store in the 1950s. Thanks to designer Ke’Ambra, I can now get a lot of wear out of my lovely find. As you can see, it still has its vintage style but the shorter length gives it a modern feel and I plan on wearing this coat a lot. It’s best not to wear vintage from head to toe-mix it up with some of your trendy, modern pieces. This will keep your outfit from looking dated. I am wearing my lovely coat with a pair of distressed jeans from NY&CO and embroidered boots from Zara. I felt it would be fun to mix in some funky prints and patterns for a cool girl look. Check out the before picture of the coat at the bottom of the page. Until next time ladies, have a lovely day.
