Peace & Love

Happy Hump Day! So… WOO! I normally don’t get into politics on my blog, but last Wednesday was crazy and it gets crazier by the minute. I didn’t expect 2021 to start off perfect, but I would have never imagined anything like rioting and storming the Capitol! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! It’s the last thing we need right now with the Pandemic and so many people losing their lives and loved ones. It’s really hard to stay positive and focused. My hope for 2021 was healing and rebuilding, but the craziness continues.

To help me not fall into a deep state of depression, I have been reading my bible and meditating. Each day I open a story in my bible app and listen to the words of the day. This helps me to stay optimistic and to manifest good thoughts and hope for myself and this world. I also have to step away from the daily news to allow peace to manifest in my mind, body, and soul. I am a strong believer that stress and negativity can do damage to your health.

I also don’t want to live my life in fear and worry. I want to feel free and safe but right now everything is uncertain. If I have learned anything, it’s the importance of voting for the right leaders. I am 53 and these last 4 years have taught me so much about government and how it works. I will never miss another primary, general, or local election again! It’s important that we have people in the Senate who care about our communities and the people in them-more than they care about the stock market!

Good leadership is everything and it is critical to the survival of people and the environment. A leader should have EMPATHY, GRATITUDE, INTEGRITY, and SELF AWARENESS. They should be ethical and civic-minded, practice effective cross-cultural communication, and BE KIND! I came across this scripture and I felt it was perfect for today. I have learned that when I need answers all I have to do is just ask God. It’s all in his Word! Sending you love and light and have a great rest of the week!

But select capable men from all the people- men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain- and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens – Exodus 18:21
